Think it’s too difficult to move your Checking Account? We’ll help you! It only takes a few simple steps:

  1. Open a new account at American Southwest Credit Union (or use your existing ASCU account).
  2. To move your direct deposit from your payroll, Social Security or other retirement accounts, give your payroll department your new ASCU account number and routing number. (ASCU routing number is 322174588.)
  3. To move your pre-authorized payments, give each company your new ASCU account number and routing number.
  4. Close your old checking account, but allow 30 days for each pre-authorized company, payroll and retirement entity to transfer your payroll and payments over to your new ASCU account. Leave a sufficient amount of money in the old account until you confirm that all direct deposits and pre-authorizations have transferred to your new ASCU account.
  5. Enjoy saving money in your new ASCU account!
