Annual Meeting in Review

The 57th Annual Meeting was held on May 21 at the Pueblo Del Sol Country Club. The meeting was well-attended with more than 150 participants, which developed into a standing-room-only setting. All credit union members were greeted with warm handshakes and a light breakfast.

The higher-than-average attendance was due partly to the fact that Harlan Bradford, Sr., was stepping down from the board of directors after 31 years of board service and 33 years of total credit union volunteer service. Chairman Jay Raschke presented him with a plaque recognizing his many years of service to ASCU. Congratulations Brad!

The Annual Meeting also drew in a large crowd due to the election for three board seats – including Mr. Bradford's seat. Four candidates ran and three were elected. Gilbert White (incumbent), Mary Hyder (incumbent) and Ernest Calhoun were elected by the members present at the meeting. Mr. Calhoun becomes the newest member of the Board of Directors. All three board members will serve a three-year term.

Several employees received service awards: Lauren Padgett, Executive VP – 10 years; Linda Broughton, Mortgage Loan Officer – 10 years; Stephanie Brown, Fort Huachuca Branch MSR; Gloria Bruce, Collections; Shivonne Pergerson, Indirect Lending; and Jeanette Mora, Douglas Branch Teller/MSR all received recognition for five years of service.

The Annual Meeting ended with the traditional door prize giveaways. This year, two iPads® were given away along with many other door prizes. The door prize portion of the meeting is always greatly anticipated and enjoyed. We appreciate all of our members who participated and supported this year's annual meeting. We look forward to seeing you next year!
