**UPDATE**Recent data breach of Home Depot Stores.
American Southwest Credit Union is aware that Home Depot is investigating the theft of credit and debit card data from its stores. Initial investigations show there is potential risk for transactions completed April 30 through August 24. This announcement is yet another example of why it’s always important to monitor your credit and debit card accounts.
At this time, ASCU will not be re-issuing cards known to have been included in Home Depot’s alert. ASCU recommends you monitor your account activity regularly. ASCU provides multiple layers of security protection against fraud, including Visa’s Zero Liability Policy. To receive fraud protection under the Zero Liability Policy, you must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.
Where can I learn about the breach and Home Depot’s response?
Home Depot has concluded its investigation of the breach, removed the malware that was discovered in its networks, and is in the process of upgrading its card terminals. For more information please go to Home Depot’s website at www.homedepot.com and click on the link “Update on payment breach.”
Should I reset my PIN?
The investigation has not confirmed whether PIN information was compromised. It’s good practice to reset your card’s PIN periodically. Update your PIN by calling 1-866-304-1647 and following the options.
Should I cancel my card?
There is no need to cancel your card. ASCU monitors accounts for suspicious activity and Visa will notify affected members if suspicious activity is confirmed. Visa’s Zero Liability Policy allows for full reimbursement of unauthorized purchases on credit or debit card accounts.
What should I do if I see suspicious charges on my account?
Monitor your account(s) and review your monthly statements carefully. You should notify ASCU immediately if you see any unauthorized activity. Also, you can sign up for additional transaction alerts through Home Banking at www.ascu.org.
How do I sign up for transaction alerts?
You can sign up for transaction alerts by logging in to your Home Banking account through www.ascu.org. Click on Settings and then Alerts. You can customize your alerts by Balance or Transaction, or a combination of both.

Enrollment for Anytime Text Banking:
- Sign into Anytime Online Home Banking from your computer
- Click on the Settings Tab, and then click on Mobile Settings to launch the enrollment process.
- Enter your mobile phone number
- Create a short name for accounts you have selected for text access.
- Review and check the Terms and Conditions checkbox.
- Text your validation code to 89549
